Really enjoy the podcast guys, only dived into eskate this year and absolutely love it. Started because I could not get to the snow to snowboard, Brisbane Australia is a long way from the snow, it always hot here. I wish there was a store in Australia that did what you guys do, we seem to have a solid scene for eSkate here, but 90% of parts I have to order from the USA or China (with the occasional ones from Europe).

Something that could be interesting to discuuss on the podcast might be the less common drive systems for eskate, not in the frame of "should you buy them or not", but more as a discussion and as a way to explain or explore some of the technical things about them that people might not know. For reference, I'm talking about direct-drive, planetary gear drive, gear drive (herring-bone or helical -- like when the belts are replaced by gears) and any other unusual drive trains that have come up that you might know about (basically anything that isn' hub or belt).

Keep up the good work and I'll be in touch when I start my DIY journey (it's only a matter of time to save money).

I have been riding about 1 year. I wanted one since about 3rd grade I wanted a boosted board I watched Casey zoom though New York. I all ready knew how to ride a long board. I learned when i was 3 bc my dad would stand on it and hold my hands and we would go up and down our court. I learned to ride on my own when i was like 4 or 5. It was easy bc the board was a big long board and bigger then i was at the time. Then middle school i started riding a normal board to school about 2 miles. This made me beg my parents for a electric board. My parents didn't want to spend about $500 USD on a board that was from a random company in China. So i looked at budget boards and there wasn't really anything. then covid hit. I thought about building one but it didn't make sense at to spend like less then $800 to build a board. I looked on amazon and youtube watching and learn as much as I could. I ended up getting a wowgo 3 with the ER battery for $500 I can hit the top speed 24 mph and go about 13 to 18 miles depending on conditions. I put 900 miles on my board and my dad also got one he road about 50 then got bored. So I go on rides with my friends. His is at about 300ish. One of my favorite things to do on it is go to the track at my old middle school. It is basically a really smooth flat quart mile track and race. Since its the same board its always close. The only crashes I have had are from standing on it backwards and going full throttle and just landing on my face. The other time i was going about 18mph and hit some gravel and sprained my wrist and cracked my helmet in half. I am 15 and love riding. Sadly though my dads board has has been throwing out a over current warning on the remote after 300. It only happens when going fast and it makes the board break aggressively effectively throwing anyone off. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The warranty is up I don't want free parts just don't know what I should replace to get it working. Or replace it with diy boosted board basically with direct drive and bigger street wheels.
