Also with a 1911 this doesn't work with the hammer down, it has to be back. Otherwise it'll go into half cock and you can't pull the trigger

I have a 1911 G. The problem with this is it's easy to engage the slide safety.

This only works when you grind your tails. Most guns off the line won’t have this much slide with so little force.

Thank you for explaining for a full demonstration. I tried before even before the movie of John Wick, I was trying to cockback my 9mm and it took me forever to actually completely cockback my pistol I never knew that move was to check for a bullet in the chamber.

I use this all the time to check my EDC, an HK P30. The slide is like butter so it's super easy with that pistol.

I love the John Wick movies. But a “John Wick press check”? 😂🤣 I’ve been doing press checks like that since 1984. The first time my wife and I wawatched the movie and he did a press check like that she said “look honey! He checks his gun just like you do!“

Something i havent seen anyone mention is when youre on the swoop back to holding it you can use your thumb to reengage the saftey in one motion as you regrip. Thats what ive been doing at least and it keeps it slightly safer i guess
