In a television programme aired on May 28, 2022, the Iranian military unveiled a drone base located hundreds of metres under the Zagros mountain range. The base reportedly hosts 100 drones. Two new cruise missiles were also showcased; the Heidar-1 can be fired from a drone while the Heidar-2 can be launched from a helicopter. The unveiling followed the death of Revolutionary Guard Colonel Sayyad Khodai, who was killed on May 22, purportedly by the US and Israel. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said Tehran would avenge his death.

I’m not pro Iran at all, I’m pro peace, no hate or anything, but I agree that every country has the right to have weapons to protect itself

Despite being sanction by the US surrounded by the Saudis in the west and Taliban in the east, Iran had done quite well with its military tech

Not pro or contra Iran.

But if there’s one thing I must admit, it’s impressive how they manage to build up such a fleet of high tech drones and other equipment indigenously despite all hard sanctions that lie on their shoulders.

Okay, if you are capable of retaliation you wouldn't show your secret base, you would just do it

I know Iran wants to show off their military strength but is it wise to unveil the existence of such a facility? Some secrets should be best kept hidden away.

Keeping and maintaining so many different drone models is not very efficient. Also some of these look more like models than anything else. A few even looked like V-1 rockets.

No one can be mad at Iran for defending itself.
