Chopped straw does improve yields but it will take a few years to see the effect

that mod that makes the straw on the field improve the yelds is realistic yes, but, only if it rains after, if its let bone dry in there it can actually be worse

2:30 I have an agricultural education, and that is 100% true. However it is not an immediate effect. To put simply it helps the health of the soil, meaning the field will keep producing high yields in the future as well. Disc Harrowing chopped straw, and even the bare remains of the plant is also doing the same effect, and Oilseed Radish is planted specifically for this effect.

in farming sim you only get 2 fertilizer states, which makes O-R and Chopped Straw harrowing fairly useless compared to just fertilizing it with manure or liquid/solid fertilizers. In Real Life though, these are all fertilizing the field on two different categories.

Yes if choped straw stays on the feild it will be fertilizer that's why you plow it into the field
