One thing that should be noted of Hengest and Horsa, is that they appear to be a reflex of the Indo-European horse twins. For those who don't know, Most Europeans and Indo-Iranian people groups are directly descended from a culture of nomadic people on the eastern European steppe, that domesticated horses and primarily herded cattle.

Their language became all Germanic, Romance, Celtic, Slavic, Iranian, Indic (Sanskrit derived), Greek, Armenian and Baltic languages, and their mythology appears to have been the basis for Greco-Roman and Norse mythology as well as early Hinduism and Zoroastrianism.

The Indo-European Horse twins appear to have been heroes twins, one of which is the son of the Sky Father (the Indo-European predecessor to Zeus, Jupiter, the Dagda, and possibly Odin or Tyr) and the other a complete mortal, but both tend to be close to one another, and usually end up saving a solar goddess from an island in the ocean (similar to the invasion of Britain and the marriage of Rowena to Hengest).
Other reflexes of them include the Hindu Ashvins, and the Greek Castor and Pollux.

As for King Arthur, he is thought to be conflated with a pre-Christian Welsh god, probably Lleu Llaw Gyffes, the hero god of the Welsh, synonymous with Irish Lugh, and possibly Greek Apollo and Norse Odin.
His name comes from the two welsh words Arth and Gwr, which when compounded in an older form would've looked like Artouiros, which would become Arthuir and then Arthur, meaning "bear-man/hero".

The Danes conquered Jutland and pushed many Jutes (and the Jutish political and military caste) westwards into the old Frisian coast, and then on towards Britain. This movement is attested by implications in the Amleth story and Finnsberg story, and the archeological connection between Kentish sites dated to the legendary founding of the Kentish Kingdom and the sites across the sea around the Rhine mouth.
I'd be careful not to dismiss those founding figures referred to in this video, Ida or his sons are possibly found in Welsh accounts, and the first indisputably historical English king is Æthelbert who is either a great grandson of hengest or a great great grandson.
If not direct historical figures themselves, their relative accounted settlements of the island are likely derived from some fact of the migration, conquest, or consolidation of the English kingdoms (note the founding of Angle kingdoms beginning in 515 according to tradition, while Saxon kingdoms had begun in 477)

Regarding the origins of the Robin Hood stories. My personal theory is that it was the natural evolution of Hereward the Wake story. As there are many similarities between them and Hereward's story goes back to the Anglo Saxon resistance in the years following the Norman invasion.

Jesus at least is about as well attested to as you get for insignificant figures of the time period, really quite impressive when you consider that he was not of the social status or prestige to leave many physical monuments but it becomes more understandable if you consider what people might have thought valuable enough to preserve.

No, it isn't "low resolution", Anglo-Saxon and English are synonyms

Really need to include Saxo Gramaticus's history, as although he claims all the protagonists as Danish. It's clear some of his work is actually describing pre-british Anglo-Saxon history. Such as the fall of the Jutes under Ānlaf (Hamlet), the rise of the Angles under Weremund and his famous son Offa. These characters be referenced in Anglo-Saxon literature.
But sadly the Anglo-Saxon version of Ingeld's Saga is lost (includingthe destructionof Heorot). Despite it's popularity among the monks.
