As a Somali most people think it’s incredibly stupid for many reasons. They think splitting will solve everything and unfortunately they get a lot of support from the same colonizer countries and regional bullies like Ethiopia

Ethiopia is occupying the Ogaden region of Somalia that was given to them by the British for assisting in colonization. The 77 Ethiopian Somali war was started in order to regain this land.

Shahid did you know that Somali land lost a war against unionist and consequentially lost 40% of its territory back in august 2023. This is the reason they are trying to get the MOU signed.

Yeah, I respectfully agree with you, sir. The Ethiopian army has been playing a leading role in the African Union peacekeeping mission in Somalia. We Ethiopians, especially Muslim Ethiopians, have long been in favor of a united and strong Somalia. We want the Somalis to live in peace, not in pieces. We of course neither forget nor forgive the devlish role the Somali government played in the Ethiopian civil war of 1960-1991, which eventually led to the separation of Eritrea from Ethiopia, leaving us a landlocked nation.

The Somali people were one people ( like one family) with Ethiopia & the division was implemented by foreign powers to benefit Europe not Africa. It started particularly after WW1. The division didn’t benefit Somali or Ethiopia to this day. If anything, was detrimental to Africa. So, Africa needs to wake up.

It’s not black and white there is a lot of hurt that goes ignored and it’s also a deeply tribal society where I just don’t think unity works for it anymore, I once did but the society struggled to be inclusive and that seems to be a deep problem.
