Teetwal (also spelt Tithwal) is a small border-village near the LoC in Kupwara district of the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Half of this village in Kupwara district of Kashmir is in India, while the other half falls in Pakistan. The Kishan Ganga river, which also acts .

Teetwal is a Town in Teetwal Block in Kupwara District of Jammu & Kashmir State, India. It is located 82 KM towards west from District head quarters Kupwara.

The village Teetwal falls in Kupwara district situated in Jammu And Kashmir state, with a population 1157. The male and female populations are 614 and 543 respectively. The size of the area is about 4.9 square kilometer.
The only line that is visible in Teetwal village from Chilyani village of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) is the gushing Kishanganga river,which is called Neelum on the other side. It is this line which forms theLine of Control (LoC).

For the last six decades,soldiers of the Indian and Pakistani armies tucked in underground pigeonhole bunkers have been maintaining a close vigil on either side of the river. However,the dividends of the Indo-Pak peace process achieved through a ceasefire since 2003 on the borders and along the LoC are visible in this picturesque village.

Twice a month,a rope bridge,built jointly by the Indian and Pakistani armies is opened for villagers on either side of the LoC. Those with valid documents cross over and meet relatives on the other side. The others simply assemble on the two banks of the river and wave at each other.
