Ominus FPV Quadcopter Unboxing, Setup and Testing

In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew flies the new Dromida Ominus First-Person View (FPV) quadcopter from Hobbico, which incorporates a video downlink to an Android or iOS smart phone or tablet. After unboxing the aircraft and making an inventory of its accessories, the Crew prepares the Ominus for flight by charging its battery, installing the included micro-SD card and establishing a Wi-Fi connection to the on board camera. Next, they conduct an outdoor flight test and evaluate the quality of the video recorded by the aircraft.

My daughter in law just got one of these in the mail from her grandma and it didn't have the instruction manual with it, so thanks for the upload! Very useful in getting this thing working without a manual. This is the first time I've ever used a drone or remote control flying thing of any sort. Consider me subscribed!

Even with the lag, if there's no real tight turns and you are in some clear open areas, the FPV works fine, though you do kind of have to gauge your lag and know your surroundings..like if you see an object in your way, start to avoid the object before you think you should with the FPV

For the "Jell-O" effect on the Ominous drone, have you guys tried to balance the blades? I had a different drone by Sky Rocket and I got the "Jell-O" effect. However when I took each blade off and used a paper clip to test the balance. I would level the blade to the table as a reference to it being level. After seeing which side was lighter I placed the electrical tape on the lighter side until it would lay level. By doing that it eliminated the "Jell-O" effect and got a lot more balance from the blades. Great video, keep up the good work guys :-)

How do I turn off the time/date stamp? I'm not loving the flv video file type.

Unless you like crashing, don't use the flip mode. The drone does not recover well from a flip. Running the props at full speed with a full battery after a flip will not recover from the wobbly dive it goes into.

Nice video and great looking copter. But for me I am using a Syma X5c with the new FPV 5.8 comes with camera and monitor.
49.99 X5c and 51.99 FPV and it is a very stable flyer. I like your approach on the review its different and interesting. Keep up the good work. Blue sky for now.

I think it's a good beginner LOS quad from the abuse it looks like it can take. The lag is way to much for fast fpv fun, but it would up your fpv flying skills crazy fast if that's all you had to start with. Looks like a good buy in my books.

Fpv camera app keeps saying add device failed. Anyone have any suggestions on this? Does the fpv app not work anymore? Any alternates?
