Said it before; Petrucciani would do some crazy stuff. I was trying to 'glean' parts from this maybe 10 years back; particularly from bars 34-39 (2:28) because that one caught my ear. Although I could play it, it was way above my pay grade to try and incorporate any of it into other music.

I love the way Petrucciani goes off on these beautiful departures; another example is on bars 79-83; you know it's Round Midnight, but he brings a whole different mood to it in those 4 bars (5:09).
Also, right at the very end he plays the 'Big Ben' clock tune, almost in a minor key, definitely a slight departure from what you normally hear, but you recognize what it is. Petrucciani is hilarious, because I suppose he's doing that because of the name of the song, round MIDNIGHT...! 😅
