I don't have KeyShot, so I'm using Renderman 21.2 Maya is what it is, I had to reverse the normal's for the wire (though it took me 2 hrs to figure out this was the problem). Texturing the bump for the light sockets was being a pain, so by using other concepts you taught (plus what I already knew about edge loops)....after separating the sphere from the cylinder, I extruded the edge of the sphere to the appropriate length, then added 10 edge loops (using an equal spacing multiplier of 4, then again between each of the sections with 1 equally spaced edge loop).

I only found your channel yesterday, but I know it'll be allot of help! Soon I hope to continue modeling and animating a realistic flaming football for my daughter's school. Oh...and if you like Christmas, please look at the Christmas village sync'd to Wizards of Winter on my channel (it's real, not animated lol).

Great video. But my extrude wont stick to the curve. I gave it a bunch of divisions mut still its stuck in a straight line?

I love your videos :D so informative. BTW do you have any experience with transparency map? currently having trouble making it work when only partial of the model is transparent. I want to use only one material but when I do. . it makes the entire object (parts that isn't transparent) translucent. can't find a solution to that...
