The WORLD'S BEST Iron player CAN'T USE THESE GOLF CLUBS!?These NEW 2023 IRONS SCARE ME... But I LOVE IT! When we look at the newest irons on the market we often think about which irons we would buy and put in our bag... this often means what are the best irons of 2023? the best forgiving irons of 2023? or if you consider yourself a ball striker, you might want the best irons of 2023... the best blade irons even Collin Morikawa doesn't use these irons into the long irons because they just aren't forgiving enough! These irons scare me so much but for some reason I would absolutely love to put them in the bag!!! the new Taylormade P7MB irons... let's do it... and let's do it now!

There is no club on the planet that allows you to hit a bad shot and get good results! In this video James complains the entire video about how difficult they are to hit, no one, "even good players" can hit them, while the entire video he hits nothing but great shots...even with the 3 iron!! Blades provide one very important advantage that the "game improvement" nonsense doesn't....precise distance control and consistency. That's why they keep making them.

I understand the worlds best using them for the slight advantages over a MC type of iron. But the p7MC and ping i230 type irons do everything blades do with some extra forgivness.

These things are absolutely beautiful! I had a test with the MB’s this week…out of the middle feels incredible! However……🫣I hit a few thin ones…😵‍💫 So not for me but they’d look fabulous in the bag! 🤣👍🏻

To be fair to Taylormade they always make a nice looking iron especially the P series and their Woods look pretty good too. Great review James

Great video, guys! Glad you enjoyed California - and how could you not?!
Collin plays the P770 in the 4-iron, I believe. And I think Tiger plays the P770 3-iron, or did at one point. One takeaway is that even the world's best ball-strikers won't say no to a little help. And don't forget that Collin switches from blades to cavity-back MCs in his short irons as well, for The Open and (I think) The Scottish Open. Although that's not because they're more forgiving, per se, but rather because of a very subtle difference in turf interaction. Well, maybe not so subtle. If I remember right, what he said was that, using the P730s in Scotland, he "couldn't find the center of the face." 😝

But among amateurs and pros, we're all different. I'm a 3 hcp, and I play big, fat, forgiving hollow-bodies in 5-7, blades in 8-PW, and then back to to a hollow-cavity CBX2 wedge in 52º...and then a bladed 58º wedge! So whatever gets it in the hole.

Yes, James put them in the bag! Every time you hit them in the center you'll smile.

3:14 - That club looks so good!

I love my 3i and if it was removed from my bag I would not want to play. Sadly, I can’t get anything LH in Taylormade irons other than their super chunky series club.

Good vid for the tempted few. I suggest a 5 handicap or less.

Strange how many average to good players use specialist wedges which are more or less bladed clubs but wouldn't go near a bladed iron like this. It certainly makes me think I should blend my irons next time I have a fit

Did they mention anything about a possible new TP5 version?

Believe it or not, they are really easy to hit. I've had the 2020's since they first came out. 4-pw. Best investment!

Gorgeous, my skill set not up to these tho.

1:35 - quick question. You tried to play a low fade with a 7 iron from 150yards. What did you adjust (from what you would do with a normal shot) in order to try and play this?

They are really good, I presume cause the blade length. Basically, if you miss the sweet spot, you’ll mis the ball completely.

Yeah even Colin has CBs in 5 and 6 irons lol so a 3 iron MB on the first shot is a tad ambitious. Kudos for even trying it!

I love a small muscleback blade. I have mizuno 221's at the moment, these look like a worthy competitor from taylormade. My experience may not be the norm because my first set of irons were maxfli aussie blades when I was very young...but I keep coming back to blades because of the feedback. With more "forgiving" irons I seem to slowly develop bad habits without realizing it. With blades I know right away what is going on.

Does all the paint full off this version as well?
