Christian Slater, Patrick Gibson on 'Dexter' prequel series

Actors Christian Slater and Patrick Gibson join "CBS Mornings" to talk about starring in the highly-anticipated prequel "Dexter: Original Sin." The series takes place 15 years before audiences first met Dexter from the original award-winning series starring Michael C. Hall. It follows young Dexter, played by Gibson, as he evolves from college student to serial killing vigilante. Slater stars as Dexter's father, a homicide detective who teaches his son an ethical code for killing.

Patrick was absolutely amazing. You can tell this kid did his homework 😂 He definitely studied the character and was able to completely embody what Michael did. The voice, the facial expressions, the mannerisms, even the way he moved when explaining things. Soooo good!

As an original fan of the Dexter series, I’ve been following all this and I am ready in here for it And I will say you don’t have to see the first text her probably to get it, but you should still go on a weeklong bench and watch the original. You can forget about new blood for right now after you watch the original, then watch the series and then watch new blood so that you’re prepared for this summer when Michael C Hall comes back as Dexter. I’m so excited for all of it my sons and I have been re-watching everything.

I understand the thought-process of recasting the core Miami Metro characters, but recasting Harry I can't get on board with. James Remar with some hair dye and filters would have totally still worked and also would have helped the continuity of the series proper.
