In Finland our forests are full of bilberries (mustikka) and due to "every man's rights" you can pick them free even in privately owned forests. Season usually starts beginning of July and can last up to early September depending on the region. Wild lingonberries and cloudberries are worth trying as well. :)

Canadian here, these look very similar to the wild blueberries i saw everywhere (and tasted) while hiking around Lake Superior. I'm going to convert my lawn and wild native blueberries will be just outside my front door😊

May seem a silly question but do you not worry about worms being in them without washing them before you try ?

If I could have just a less than 1/2 of an Acre I be happy with that. So I can do veggies and herbs and fruit.

Blueberries don’t stain your skin red when you pickem. Lovely they are.

This is sort of funny to watch if you're Nordic. I mean, explaining bilberries? They need explaining? I don't think I know anyone I grew up with who didn't pick bilberries and loads of them. With milk and sugar, on or in the oat porridge, in pies, ice cream, pastries and cakes and they make your tongue and your milk or porridge beautifully purple.
