On this particular model of "John Deere" Sabre (1438) - it has no oil filter. Hence why he didn't change the oil filter - there isn't one. So change your oil religiously.

I just bought a new home that came with this exact mower. Been looking for an oil filter. None apparently.

The dude posts a video on how to change the oil, but does not change the oil filter?!???!? I am looking for a cheaper oil filter than the John Deere OEM oil filters, so that is what I was interested in seeing. Waste of time.
