I never really enjoyed sewing until I took a knit fabric course. Went out and bought an overlocker and tons of stretch fabric and never looked back. Was even making and selling gym wear for awhile there. I love that sewing can be quick and easy as back when I learned it was all about making business suits and other ridiculously time consuming items ... snore. They said that you have to learn all the basics before you can take shortcuts. Boy were they wrong! How many young moms have time for zipper flies, cuffs and pleats?! I loved whipping up an outfit for a napping child in the morning and watching them run around in it in the afternoon :).

Another idea is to get a bunch of wrapping paper really cheap after Christmas cause they're on sail and use the wrapping paper to make you're patterns!! U can cut however much u want of paper for your pattern and sometimes it has lines for cutting which could help cut strait! 😃👍🏻

So this was my first project today!! :D so the pants came out screwed up because on of the legs were inside out when I was done lol but it was only for practice since this was my first time sewing, and I must say if I didn't mess that up they would have been pretty nice. This tutorial is AMAZING. I have never (I mean EVER) made clothing until this summer. I am just now getting familiar with a sewing machine. My first project was a pillow case dress and it went very well so I got brave and tried my hand at leggings. They turned out FANTASTIC, fit well and look even better. It was super easy to follow and I appreciate the tutorial!

I think every girl and woman deserves a sewing machine. if someone doesn't have a sewing machine I bet you if they did they would enjoy using very much. it is so much fun to create something . you feel so acomplished and proud. it's awesome

My favorite tip is to use brown paper bags to make a pattern! I also love the idea of using a pair of pants that have a hole or stain as a pattern. Sewing is not cheap so these are great ways to save some $$$.
