I bought a $70 dlls Cuisinart food processor and I ended up returning it. I decided to buy this Black & Decker for only $26 dlls and let me tell you, I’m VERY impressed. It works so much better than the Cuisinart, it’s cheaper and it’s lighter. I recommend this foo processor!

Hey Ya'll I was having the same problem when I bought mine and thought that it didn't work, was going to package it up and take it back, but decided to look one more time, When you set the lid down on the bowl make sure it is to the right of the handle, then turn it clockwise and it will snap into the side of the handle and this will allow the motor to engage. hope this helps you. Nothing easy about this food processor I shave had mine 2 years and can’t use it because I can’t figure out the easy assembly.I’ve had other food processors but never one that you can’t get the bowl to fit. DO NOT BUY unless you want it for decorative purposes on, y.

I can not get my blade over the center part to install. This looks like it just slides down center and then works. I can not get my center part to slide down,

Okay, there are a few things that are not mentioned in the user manual that would have been helpful for me. Here goes.
1. Orient the food processor on the counter so that the buttons are facing you.
2. Place the mixing bowl in the base with the handle pointing to the right.
(That big slot in the back of the base is NOT for the handle of the mixing bowl, even thought it is the exact right size. The slot is apparently part of the drainage system in case the user ended up with too much liquid in the mixing bowl.)
3. Put whatever you want into mixing bowl, then put the lid on. The lid has to rotate clockwise about 1 inch to lock into the handle.
4. Process your food.
5. Rotate the lid counterclockwise 1 inch to unlock it from the handle, then lift off.
6. The vibrations of the food processor might cause the mixing bowl to settle down tight into the base. You might have to tug pretty hard straight up to remove the mixing bowl from the base.

I am looking for the solution of how to disassembling the base motor part of this food processor because while I was chopping fish to make fish ball, the fish meat fall into the hole that connects to motor. I am not able to clean it. And right now this food processor smells badly of the fish smell. I want to open the motor base to wipe off the fish meat that fell into the hole.

I've used a KitchenAid (Made in France) processor for years. We bought this for a second home. For thirty bucks at Walmart, it works great. No complaints. Small size takes up less space on the counter.
