I knew these projects would be game changing and was ecstatic at the federal funding announcement but I didn't fully realize the extent of how transformative it'll be for the region when they're all done like you said! Interesting observation that they are in all corners of the GTHA region, and I didn't think about how these projects link up all the major destinations!

“I'm busting my buttons with pride” -Fergy Brown, Mayor of York, August 25, 1994 as ground was broken for the Eglinton West subway extension (which was then cancelled). My point, not to be a wet blanket, is that I will wait to see true progress before I celebrate too much, as a lot can happen in nine years. This time does feel different, though.

I would use the Scarborough RT right of way for a Eglinton Crosstown extention.

I don't want to throw cold water on the completion dates, and budgets but geotech investigations are not perfect, and so once you start digging/boring tunnels, you could find unexpected problems. same goes for as built drawings and maintenance records. Construction of the Crosstown at Eglington could be a good example of that from what I've read. While I argue for subways, I always throw in that caveat. I can't wait to see this all completed too.

Love your videos!

Question: do you Cities: Skylines???

You're very informative and well spoken and I would like to see you as a guest on bigmoodenergy's, donoteat1's or pres' channels talking public transit using the game Cities: Skylines. That would be awesome.

Now on to what's going on in the Toronto region and transit... this is a big announcement. It's good to see some type of heavy rail extension in North America. Hopefully that sparks some American cities to look into heavy rail.

I'd rather have line 2 run where the scarborough rt currently runs but it'll continue past mccowan to malvern town center and they should extend line 4 to sheppard west stn and scarborough centre stations.

Is Via not going to get a budget increase, it's currently like 300 million dollars annually

I say build the Eglington Extension at grade, but sever every single grade crossing, so nobody can cross the line, and the line is now grade separated

I am glad that the Hamilton LRT is going to be built, but only 3 stops? What is the point? lol I feel like the cities of Cambridge, Hamilton, KW, and Guelph should all collaborate and build a massive unified transit system. Perhaps put an Intercity LRT. Hopefully, no one here thinks I am mad as this is very elusive...LOL!!!

Pronounce Toronto correctly or don't say Toronto at all.

Unfortunately, these massive transit expansion programs will result in higher debt and possibly higher taxes.
