First day I got my bow i was showing it to a friend who was also new to the sport. The bow was a 2003 Hoyt mountain sport zr200 60lb draw. I handed him the bow and He proceeded to pull the string back and let go, Whack!!! A loud Crack and I stood eyes Wide open. Luckily no damage. It being a 14 year old bow at the time I'm a 100% Hoyt fan for life.

I wonder how any string could survive 1500 dry shots...

I got distracted and ended up dry firing my 2023 Hoyt VTM 34. I took it in to the pro shop where I bought it, and there was absolutely no damage thank God! This is a testament to their craftsmanship and quality. Thank you Hoyt!

i'm so glad i have hoyt. few years ago i was tired and twisted the riser when pulling it back and the string derailed. no damage at all. not even to the string. it was hoyt faktor 30. and yea never making the same mistake again lol

So glad I found this, I just bought my first Hoyt bow and I accidentally dry fired it the other day and nothing seemed to happen. I was nervous about it but kept shooting, then today (SMH) I dry fired it Uhggg! But, but, but, nothing happened. I just bought the new Torrex XT and it seems to be keeping with the same standard. I know this video was made in 2016 it seems like they are still doing it.
Thanks Hoyt from us older, not paying enough attention, A.D.D. having, forgetful a** crowd!

I have an older Hoyt bow. I don't know whether it was made to this standard, but I really like it.

Ventum 33, I was stressing out so badly when I got a new thumb release, accidentally fired halfway through the draw cycle just practising draw and let down .. checked the bow meticulously, not a thing wrong with it.. string didn't even stretch or twist . I've even accidentally dropped it.. since fired 200 odd arrows through it no dramas. HOYT fan for life

I dry fired my Hoyt Prevail today. Then I went out for shooting practice. My bow shoots just as good as it did yesterday.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Invicta, but when the new string wasn't installed properly it blew up and the right limbs were cracked.

does this apply to recurve risers/limbs aswell?

Then how the hell did I blow my strings up after one dry fire on my Hoyt?

Can you shoot this in super slow motion? I want to know how fast that string is going while it's being dry fired.
