The axe^x terms end up cancelling for the same reason the original trial function of ae^x cancels out to 0 because the product rule will spit out the derivative of ae^x timed by x? x* dae^x/dy * x + dx/dy*ae^x and the equivalent second order derivatives and these are already zero when put in the original diff equation as we see so we'll be left with ae^x times some constant?
