How Blackbeard got TWO Devil Fruit Powers

When we saw the Blackbeard vs Ace fight, Blackbeard did something really interesting. He absorbed the entire town and then took it out of his darkness later in ruins. This means he holds some sort of ability of storage or absorption. So what if in Marineford he took a normal fruit with him, covered Whitebeards body and waited for the fruit to change into a devil fruit and then *absorbed* Whitebeards devil fruit instead of eating it.

I feel its more likely tied to the Darkness fruit itself, as its spoken with some reverance above a normal devil fruit, which potentially is because of its ability to allow multiple devil fruit powers. Remember, Blackbeard never *ate* Whitebeards fruit - he covered himself so no one could see.

My theory is that he has a little man inside of his darkness at all times who at Whitebeard's fruit.

I dont think he ate a "satan" devil fruit, but a mythical zoan, like Cerberus. Cerberus is a hellish dog with three heads, and each head has a different personality.

The best theory I’ve seen floating about goes like this. Typically with normal Logia DF users, they are basically made up of whatever type they are (fire, rubber, ice, etc) but with blackbeards fruit we only ever see him use his powers from his hands, and he is unable to avoid blunt attacks like most logia users. The theory is, is that since Blackbeard is pure darkness, he is unable to use his power to its fullest potential as there is usually light around. However, in a circumstance where there is no light (under a blanket perhaps) Blackbeard becomes a literal black hole, able to consume anything as he becomes darkness itself. So he literally consumes the power from white beard while leaving his corpse, and not actually eating the devil fruit itself. Safe to say he isn’t probably 2x as weak to water as regular users lol.

my guess is it has something to do with whatever he did with whitebeards body, maybe his blood, and that lets him bypass the consequences involved in eating a second devil fruit. he didn't have a second devil fruit he acquired the ability of one. that method may have its own consequences though since the ability isn't genuine. this can also explain why he bothered to go to his body instead of retreating nearby and trying to have a fruit to spawn or looking for the next one since ace's fruit came back and was able to be found. I know it's not as exciting as the 3 head or multiple personality theory but it seems more likely

I remember hearing a theory way back which stated that before Blackbeard ate the Yami Yami No Mi, he ate the Mythical Zoan Inu Inu No Mi: Model Cerberus (three-headed dog whom in Greek Mythology is stated to guard the gates of Hell) which enables him to eat multiple devil fruits. Which explains why Blackbeard was able to steal the power of the Gura Gura No Mi from Whitebeard. What do y’all think???

There is also a theory that those people who have D. in thier names (just like Marshall D Teach or Monkey D Luffy), they are enemies of God and can eat two devil fruits.

He used his fruit to suck up the tremor therefore he now can technically use two fruit with only one and also he can use ace fruit

My theory is that Blackbeard is a octopus because Blackbeard survived two devil fruits and if you eat two devil fruits your heart explodes which would make sense and for the upcoming episodes Blackbeard is a important character so he would eat another fruit let’s look at his Jolly Roger his three heads show like an octopus he is one and there’s 8 bones which also represents a octopus because a octopus has 8 tentacles so in my theory is that Blackbeard is a octopus or we can say he might be a Kraken and there’s one fruit that comes in mind of what he would eat for his next fruit is he would kill Law and then eat his fruit.

I think that he and his crew found a way to remove devil fruits probably because they found Dr.Vegapunk and threatened him to find a way to steal devil fruits and then he went to impel down and recruited the dudes and proceeded to tell his crew and then go to marineford and use that strategy to steal whitebeards devil fruit

My theory is he ate a very specific mythical zoan type of a mythical creature with 3 heads and souls, each head has a devil fruit which explains why his teeth change, the head swaps when he goes to sleep

A theory that is most likely true is that he has three personalities which have three different Minds you can tell this by his teeth in the way he acts he can have a full just full set of teeth or like three to two missing or a couple like five or four missing and it's always changing like there's somebody growing back or multiple people so a lot of people and I think it's just because he has a multi personality disorder and those three personalities are able to take a devil fruit because technically they're different people just in one body

I think this theory is also supported by the actual historical figure Blackbeard, Blackbeard was an english pirate whose real name was Edward teach (the teach in his name is pronounced thatch, which may be related to the thatch from one piece) blackbeard’s (the historical figure) first name may come from whitebeards first name in one piece, edward, and his last name comes from blackbeard’s (one piece bb) last name
