Wildest thing to me is how much the military is decrying a lack of enlistment while I have a friend who's been waiting a call back from a AF recruiter for months

So I've been trying to join the military for 2 almost 3 years now. I would prefer the Air Force because I feel like that branch fits me the most. However, I have been physically capable of doing everything that I've seen. I can do all of it, and I know I can do all of it, but because I have medical records stating that I have a past suicidal ideation (I was 13 and never acted on it and im 23 now so I obviously grew out of it), so that's whats keeping me from joining I KNOW I am capable but the military is complaining that they don't have enough recruits and here I am raising my hand to join desperately and they tell me no... so right now is my last attempt to join the military, Air National Guard. My biggest hope is that someone from the Air Force sees this and it goes public, I know that's not going to happen though

I’ve been trying my hardest to join the airforce, but they refuse to continue my processing over a nonexistent medical condition regarding asthma. I’ve been homeless for months with two full time jobs, a college degree, cyber certifications and I still can’t afford housing here in Florida. This is ridiculous. I didn’t choose to join as a last ditch option or some convenient way to lose weight, but for the sheer discipline and career opportunities that come with it. Yet there are people out here who are fully eligible to join and are squandering the opportunities.

I work at Sam’s club right now at the tire and battery no college and im 23 . A 60 year old gentleman came to me and said he been retired for 20 years . He said the Air Force one of the was best experience he went through. Now I plan on joining or at least getting deployed in 2025 and I’ll be 24 by the time . I Plan on doing a 4 year contract . man watching your videos are helping me out easing through the process. I know I’ll miss my family tremendously but I know it’ll help me & them out 🤙

I didn’t learn the age increased to 42 until June this year. I always thought it was 35. It was quite the journey getting approved to MEPS but made a 94 and got my waiver on a prior surgery approved. My enlistment date was two days before my 42nd birthday. Sworn in and waiting on BMT date now. Appreciate these videos and others on what to expect.

Just turned 40, married with children...was being peer pressured to enlist straight outta high, but wasnt very motivated. Over the years, i wished i would've enlisted and now...i motivated and confident enough to enlist. Plus I've had ENOUGH of "civilian life" and want WAY more for myself and my family.

I want to join, but I'm cuban and I've been waiting for a humanitarian parole to be approved since February, I am 27 years old and still here in Cuba wasting time, thanks USCIS, the air force has a 25 year contract here . 👍🏼

I have an IB diploma AND a vocational cert and had to certify that program through NACES last year when I started my process lol. Glad they changed the regs though now. Hope I can come in as an E3
