I'm a software engineer & I'm sure as hell excited about AI & the potential LLMs, but seriously, people are going way over the top about AI. It's ludicrous to sit there and say something is bigger than the internet, when it is entirely built on the internet! It's data comes from 30 years of internet, and will continue to depend on the internet.

Even if ChatGPT builds up a LLM plugin store faster, it will be trivial for the plugin provider to port to a different LLM since the interface is largely in plain English, and the LLM will be able to automatically change the code to work with the new LLM. There will be zero friction for the plugin developer to create their plugin for all LLMs, so there is little benefit for the first-mover. Proprietary training data will be the main determinant of success.

Just a thought, I agree it’s still early, but in my mind, The size of the opportunity makes comparisons almost meaningless. especially if in the near future we arrive at true AGI.🤔IMO

If ChatGPT can look up search results and bring back the best answers, and can book flights for you, etc., what's going to happen to advertising? A big thing I love about using chatgpt over searching Google is I don't have to deal with ads.

I think speed matter a lot. What will happen first, will chatGPT create an app store that everyone will want to build on? Or will FB and Google launch their own LLMs and open them up and create app stores?

ChatGPT beating Google Bard, definitely not. Bard is already trained on a bigger data set and the UI is much more pleasant too. My personal experience with both is that they are novelty items. Most people will get tired of them. I'm already bored by both.

yes they will say " do not crawl", creators will not go to platforms who use the data... and why write a book on chat got, it just takes your data, why bother publishing it... i

LOL, , , , so many work arounds... They can try to block it, , , but this will be too overwhelming... The Dark side, , , is what worries me most...
