Perfect platform. We got lost in gadgets and power.

By far, this is the best Tenere 700 Review. Reviewed by a true, mature professional. I love the simplicity and power-to-weight that this bike has. Well Done!

recently saw an hour long video by BMW of their 4 day ride in Australia. At no point in the video did I feel that the riders required the big 1200 GSs. 99% riders will never utilize the full potential of these bikes, so I think Yamaha has a winner on their hands.

I have at last had an oportunity to ride it while my bike was serviced. I found myself talking to it in delight! So much fun, just a few minutes on the dirt and I am no expert so I had to take it easy. Fun is the overall word for this. As usual Yamaha have got it spot on.

I love the simplicity so far, this is I want. The KLR is gone, I loved how basic the bike was but needed more power or one more gear. I think the Tenere 700 could be the new KLR. We'll see.

I haven't seen or read a single bad review about the new Tenere. Yamaha have good history and Dakar pedigree to call on..it's a sensible price, all these 10, 12, 15, ...nearly 20 grand prices are crazy. The MT engine is terrific and one of the most reliable out there, what's not to like!!. Apart from the fact no one has a demo bike yet....Cheers, Steve

The first shipment of T7s is arriving in Australia in December. I went down to my local Yamaha dealer to book a Demo ride, but the dealer told me they have all sold out already, and I will have to wait for the next shipment in 2020. It's gonna be a popular bike in Australia.

Lovely bike, but where ...WHERE is the weight ??? Does it have cast iron wheels ???
It's weight is exactly the same as my 4 cyl. R1.
What is going on here ???

Elephant in the room is the fuel tank. I rode a 2012 Tenere for four years in Australia and the bigger tank is a god send on long trips with limited fuel stops. It's surprising that the new tank is so small even given the good fuel economy.

Rider Aids .. can you use a clutch, throttle & rear brake at the same time? Yes .. ok you don’t need $$ electronics.
