The irony is that Pokemon sealed investing works for the very reason most people cannot resist opening their product.

Buy storage containers and keep them out of sight

Said it before but I'll say it again... anyone who has ANY temptation whatsoever to open sealed product (which they purchased as an investment) has absolutely no business investing in Pokemon. Seriously. Pokemon investing already has enough pitfalls without having to constantly fight the urge to open your product.

Honestly so true keeping sealed is hard. Legit can only keep boxes sealed once I've pulled the chase for myself

When i buy product i always buy one extra to open. Keep the rest sealed

I have no temptation on opening my booster boxes at all. If I want to open a few packs I usually grab some packs or blisters to open.

I’m a collector at heart, but I’m able to invest because although I love opening a few packs here and there, I tend to buy singles rather than gamble.

My pokemon investments allow me to buy the singles I want. This is my way:

For example, lets say we bought 20 JP 151 boxes at the dip, now they’re almost double that price again. When they double, I sell half my boxes, so now we have 10 boxes left which we are in for $0, nothing whatsoever, these 10 boxes we can either keep them for the ride, or sell these at the same time, and I use this profit for my singles or other investments.

Whatever I get the urge to open up product I just go and buy a couple of packs to rip open . Like you I have open product before and you never make anywhere close to what you paid for the packs so you just get to a point where you realize it is a waste of money

Ive still got my ETBs and boxes from 4 years ago and no temptation to open, I earn enough money in bitcoin and crypto therefore its just appreciating in value and I love it. Evolving skies was my best investment so far at $100 a booster box!

My mindset: Opening = Losing Money. Waiting = making money.

Not opening boxes has become easy for me. I've opened so much product before and have gotten nothing. It's easier for me to keep it sealed because I know I am gaining value. If I want a specific card I simply buy it. I occasionally open packs, but I buy them to open. Simple

The hardest part is keeping it sealed and not being tempted to open it.
I have 3 evolving skies bb's, and when I feel the need to rip ES, I just dip in my tins I still get at retail cost.

Put it somewhere you can't look at it. Throw a cloth over it if you are tempted all the time 😂

I'd say, buy sealed product and buy the chase card you want. You WILL save money in the end. Your investment stock will be a temptation if you didnt pull your chase from your alloted personal boxes.

I find ETB’s so much more tempting to open than booster boxes, which is okay because booster boxes are a much better investment.

I bought a bunch of ETB’s years ago as well as a case of XY Evolutions. I’ve never had any temptation to open the Evo boxes but have opened my ETB’s now after getting back into it now and getting the itch.

I regret it slightly especially as one was an evolving skies ETB but the rest weren’t that expensive.

I bought 6 151 booster bundles recently and opened 1 and pulled the SIR Venusaur and the IR charmander and didn’t open any more boxes so that’s progress 😂

I bought 216 Evolving skies sleeved boosters from PC with the intent to keep most of them sealed, but after a couple of packs I realized it was a white code card error batch, I was pulling secret rares 1 in every 8 packs (half of them vmax alt arts) so It was worth opening them all. One of the few times I opened all the product I just bought.

this is exactly where i am right now, just went through a frenzy of opening japanese 151 a couple months ago, just found out about investing, bought a couple of boxes and i love looking at them.

I dont have this problem because i have absolutely no attachment to any of these modern sets. Idgaf about anything i only like the original sets and original 151, and since the original sets are way too expensive im not opening old sets any time soon. For me it will be an easy time investing

i had this in the beginning haha opened everything up i had this mainly of looking at other people on yt that open stuff don't watch people open things up or you will get the feeling of opening stuff yourself especially when they pull big cards xD
