How does a rib articulate with thoracic vertebrae?

preview_player
Показать описание
Ribs 1, 10, 11, and 12 articulate with a single vertebral body.

Ribs 2-9 articulate with two vertebral bodies at the superior and inferior demifacets.

Ribs 1-10 contain a tubercle that articulates with the transverse facet of transverse processes (only on thoracic vertebrae).

Thank you alot for this clarification.
I just have one question left.
If Rib 10 only articulates with T10, why does T9 have an inferior demifacet? What does it articulate with?

Can u explain why our ribs are called bicephalic??

So the superior facet of rib connects with the inferior facet of vertebrae, right? And we say superior facet of rib because it is connected with the above vertebrae ?

In the rib, is the inferior and superior processes are facet? Thank you
