Back in 2014, at a time when Bitcoin was trading 45% off its all-time highs, Tim made another big contrarian bet, buying 30,000 Bitcoins for about $565 per Bitcoin at an auction held by the U.S. Marshall Service. Tim's investment was initially a losing one as Bitcoin traded down or sideways for nearly two years. But he took the long view and it paid off.
