We need to pay our bills and separate that from the budget talks. This is just paying what we owe, not about budgeting. Republicans are trying to conflate the two for some stupid reason.

Analogy: you buy a car with a loan, pay for a few years, then decide that the payments are too high so you stop paying the loan. That’s just stupid. Pay the loan, and figure out your budget as Rep Lieu said. He also brought up increasing revenue to increase the budget. It’s absolutely the way to go. Budgets don’t always have to be cut. I can get a new job that makes more money to increase my budget. The government’s option is tax revenue. Taxes that were needlessly cut can return.
