Working on this brand new *USB* keyboard interface for the ZX Spectrum.
Yes: real USB! No PS/2, just real USB-HID interfacing.

I ordered a C64 barebones case with USB keyboard. I was thinking of sticking a Pi inside it. This got me thinking. I could stick a Harlequin inside it and have a Speccy with a C64 case. It would be fun to showoff and the next retro meetup.

wow. but.. how are you able to feed the keypresses if the five keyboard data pins of the ULA are not accessible via the edge connector?

Now that's cool... Cos even if my nostalgia brain won't admit it, the keyboard's were bloody awful

This is awesome 😎 Will it be compatible with the Timex TC 2048?

A USB Keyboard with printed ZX Spectrum keys would be ideal then.

Wow that will be amazing especially if you can get that as a compact design, would make programming so much easier, on the actual spectrum itself great video as always Ben hope you're well looking forward to your next live fixing stuff stream stream

I wonder if an inexpensive GD32F405 could do the job of all the ICs you are using?

Cool ! It would be awesome if you could make the arrow keys emulate the in(31) codes Kempston uses, and maybe ctrl - alt - del for reset.
