I love the fact that burnout is still on your floor. This looks like a beast for sure. Not the design I am looking for but everything else says SOLD!

I can see why you're so excited, back in the seventies there was a craze for fast mopeds that would do almost 50mph and were legal to ride at 16 in the UK. We rode them everywhere and had a lot of fun.

FINALLY a 40+ mph ride for the price point! It's about time. I have been waiting for a manufacturer to deliver at this level. 👍

My friend, I'm a 54 year old, laid back southern guy. No offence but you have a kind of hipster vibe which typically isn't in my world. But I have to say you're full of energy and, though you talk pretty fast, you're to the point and give the information that people are looking for rather than a bunch of fluff. Also it's fun to see you are clearly having fun. Great video. I'll watch some more, just because. Keep it up and be safe out there!!

Dude, find a safer place to test this bike.

Pretty cool.

You have balls of steel. No way I'd do 35-40 on the shoulder/bike lane.

This showed in my recs and I'm not into ebikes or anything and I went ahead and watched, and I enjoyed your review style. A lot of entertaining testing that does a great job of showing all kinds of useful info for anyone interested in this sort of thing. Some reviews/reviewers are so boring in the delivery but you definitely aren't.

I'm an e-bike builder (including a Cyclone 3000 watt mid-drive, 40amp controller, dual 52 volt packs (1st=27.2AH, 2nd=13.6ah, total 40.8ah), on 700c cyclocross bike (top speed 40mph), also have 750W mid-drive (BBS02), two 350w front hub and my fave, a 250w front hub with 22ah 36v dual packs that does everything and yet gets over 100 miles of range. I also had several motorcycles from 80cc to 750cc (Yamaha and Triumph) so am used to high speeds (but have ditched the motorycycles, and I am now a fan of e-bikes).

I have viewed dozens of e-bike reviews. I have to say this is a VERY WELL DONE review (great job!) on a very well made bike (Kudos to Goat Power)! Even at $2, 500, it's solid value, and If I did not already have so many e-bikes, I would be happy with this one!

Given my experience with my own 3000 watt (cyclone mid-drive) bike, my comments are:
1. Even at 20AH, this 2000 watt motor, fat tire/100lb bike, 60 amp controller will likely suck the 20 amp hour (ah) pack dry within the first 20 miles (especially if you do what a bike like this really tempts you to do: ride it like a Honda 125 with the low-end grunt of a Yamaha 900 triple (basically racing cars on the street, and playing hops-scotch with buses and getting to your destination in less time it takes to drive there.) A bike like this could use a second pack (connected in parallel). Even another 15-18ah pack would really help with alleviating range anxiety on this bike (extending range by about 80% more: e.g. instead of just 20-30 miles, maybe a more practical 35-50 miles. Only problem: I can't see a place on the bike to put the 2nd pack (I don't see method of adding a rear rack and installing pannier bags to store the 2nd pack.).

2. This bike's design does not allow for seat height adjustments. I'm 5'11" (6-7" shorter than you) and it looks like even I would have difficultly pedaling and apply any real pedal assist to help extend range.

3. It's a strange thing for me in that after 4 e-bike builds and 1 bought e-bike (LECTRIC Lite 350w 48v 7.8AH- short range), my favorite is the latest build which ironically is my "smallest" bike (in terms of motor and controller) - a 250 watt, 36 volt Bafang front hub kit (14 amp controller) installed on a Trek hardtail with Marzocchi fork. This 48lb e-bike throttle only bike is a blast to ride, is super easy to pedal, reaches the e-bike 20mph speed limit with ease, eats the steepest of hills with very little effort, engaging and thrilling to ride, great/stress free pedaling/exercise, and best of all, just sips power from its packs (dual 36 volt packs totaling 22 ah), and easily gets 100 miles of range (i.e. just about zero range anxiety). With it's light weight (35lbs with batteries off), it's easy to handle and transport on regular bike rack. I hardly every ride my much heavier Cyclone 3000 watt anymore.

Matt, You are the GOAT!! I have been checking this bike out for a while and I was waiting for you to review it. Keep up the great work, you are an asset to the Ebike community.

bro you will have to use that cellphone holder more often, you are going to give me a heart attack driving at 35+mph with just one hand in steering.

Nice bike btw hehe.

That's impressive. Good to see a company have a choice for better road speed when needed. Really helps going to work when you can kinda stay up with traffic. 👌

I've watched a fair few of your reviews after going back and forth about getting a whole as another form of transport currently saving up for a reliable vehicle. This is the first bike you've reviewed that is exactly exciting to possibly try out

I have the Power Goat version. It’s so fast and fun! I also have the v1 of the Billy Goat. It was good but pales in comparison to V2. Glad they are finally getting the attention they deserve!

Very few motorcycles would use the left lever for the rear brake. Aside from a handful of bikes that have an automatic or semiautomatic transmission (and all scooters), the left lever is the clutch lever. The rear brake on a traditional motorcycle is applied by the right foot.
