I had a cousin that had gone to prison for a couple of years back in the 80’s. He’d been fighting and rightly so he got done for it…. But, when he came out he spent the first week asking if he could use the toilet, if he could make a cup of coffee, it was crazy. They just opened the door and let him out and even after only 24 months he was institutionalised. So I can get what he’s saying.

I know exactly what he’s saying. When I got out of prison I went to get my haircut and 3 lads walked in and I thought they were going to jump me. My heart started racing and I kept having to tell myself to calm down. Even to this day I don’t like big crowds and if someone I don’t know gets too close to me I get on edge. It even took me a couple of weeks before I felt comfortable just crossing the road. When you haven’t walked down a street for a few years the cars going past seem like they’re travelling really fast and everyone is in a hurry. It’s disorienting.

He is a perfect example of a lifer that cannot live outside anymore. They broke him that way. I don't know if you could really break Charles.

He is in his 70’s now it is about time he was released he has served his time. Considering people who have done much worse are out. If you think about it even the krays didn’t get released all because of there notoriety more than anything.

Since I've been in Prison a few times I find it hard being around People I keep myself to myself it's less Stressful as I get paranoid and Anxiety attacks just find it easier this way .

I got into trouble as a younger man, I did manage to get my life together and I'm an entirely different place now 35 years later. But it is extremely difficult to reintegrate into normal society after the experience prison puts you through. Even worse if nothing is done to help you in society, and a lot of parole and probation agencies aren't trying to help prisoners reintegrate into society they just feel like their job is to wait until you and then make sure you get back behind bars again. Which itself is pretty sick and twisted. I had a dad who was able to coach me because he had been a social worker and was later a psychologist he help me learn better stress coping mechanisms and unlearn toxic maladaptive stress coping the mechanisms. Here I am in the later years of my life I haven't been married had a great career seeing the world...

Thats part of the problem unfortunately why they won't let him out, sad as it is as he can come across as a nice man, , , , but.

He's just making an excuse according to the man down the pub, bi-polar, adhd, autism, as in their day you pulled your socks up! Wish he could meet all the men down the pub!

Diddums. Always someone else’s fault. He thrived on his notoriety that he had to upkeep. Ego came first and he’s paying the price.
