It doesn't matter how common it is. It shouldn't happen. If it happens once, it's a problem.

You can't discredit situations just because it doesn't affect you directly. Imagine the occurrences we DON'T hear about or see

Survivor bias and victim bias, there's no way of knowing if it's out of proportion as we all see and interact with different things, and thus have different perspectives

The point is, it should literally never happen.

But it's more common than it should be and it has been ignored for so long. It would be blown out of proportion if it didn't happen every month to every week. Once a year is too much when it anymore common than that it isn't blown out of proportion. Understanding its not every cop, but it's too many. And there are too many that are willing to ignore it.

The guy was trying to suggest a sampling error. Happens all the time in the news. Mundane or common occurrences don't make the news. Crazy situations and exceptions do.

We see it a lot because that’s what they want us to see they have completely stripped away one of the most integral parts of our community and everyone just thinks it’s ok.

Well when every instance is on the news then it’ll make you think it’s more common than it actually is

This is something I do agree on quite a bit is a few instances will get blown completely out of proportion and yes there are sometimes when brutality happens or something is not handled in the way it should be but why are when still nagging and those few times it happens when we could spend that time to train officers more and give them the funding to pay to get them the best training for any situation that could arise

While I think police brutality is awful and should be talked about those situations are still the minority keep that in mind

I mean we do see it a lot but that’s because that’s the main thing people record and post, compared to the amount of content out there showing wholesome cop moments, we see brutality a lot because it’s what people show a lot, simple as that
