It is a great truth. The creator is a good, saving, freeing God. Giving drink, food, clothes, helping a stranger, the sick, or prison are all things the Lord experienced on his way to sacrifice. Forgiving and attending to your neighbor is righteous. These are the things we do for orphans and windows. Those lost in purgatory are in need of our help too. This is a good video

These acts of charity are the manifestations of the received love from God to you and the love you have for God is permanently shared towards others. Honest and sincere acts of love to all seeing no skin color, social position, returns of favors or convenience. Important is to have that true love of God in you in order to share. You can not give what you don't have.
