As someone with anterior pelvic tilt(aka ass sticking out) it amazed me when I did it and realised I did not have a belly, my posture was shit.

The tucked position is actually the "right" position for your spine and pelvis. It engages deep musceles.

This is what ballerinas do, as part of our training. My instructor calls it hips to ribs. You basically align you ribs with your hips, and that’s it! ❤

I figured this out on my own and it really works. It also makes your tummy look flat. I always do this when taking pictures

But yup! They are all right! Not only is it healthier but you look better too. You want your hip and shoulders in a straight line. You want to engage the muscles between you two hip bones and that’s how you should be standing.

Think of your pelvis like a bucket of water, you don’t want it tipped over one way or the other. You wanna keep it level. That’s something that helped me focus on keeping my core engaged and my pelvis not tilting back

My dance teacher had a whole lesson on posture and this was a BIG part of it. It's also better for your spine and makes your butt look rounder. She'd tell us to stop hiking it up lol

ive been doing this for my posture for AGES, it helps with my back pain and engages my core which helps because when i would just throw my shoulders back but didnt fix my hips, it hurt my back. posture is better than ever, and it helped get rid of my rib flare
