I am brand new to this game. I am having trouble just getting started. A YouTube of a step by step actual game or at least a round or two would be really helpful. I actually flew for Pan Am and was very excited when I saw this game advertised. I was really looking forward to playing it with my qrandkids. However if I can't figure out how to play, I can't teach it to them! Any help would be appreciated!

You said that the 'Secret Stock" Directive Cards are just luck of the draw at the end of the game, and as such, could leave a sour taste in someone's mouth.
Hmm... You need to consider that gaining one of those cards costs not being able to place that Engineer somewhere else more beneficial. IOW, placing an Engineer on space E is more of a gamble than any other location. Sometimes the gamble pays off, and sometimes it doesn't.
Finally, if you're putting an Engineer on space E, then typically it means that you were outbid on a bidding space, leaving you with an extra Engineer or two. This means that your opponent(s) have gained that spot's benefit while you didn't gain anything in return. Thus placing that same displaced Engineer on space E, and maybe coming out of the turn with a VP is not only a consolation prize, but a good balancing mechanism to boot.

My Family tried the game yesterday. The win condition seems off to us with it only being based on stock owned. For example, the Jet Liners don't come out until turn 6 and so are next to impossible to recoup your money back on them. That is almost the case with a lot of actions in the last couple of rounds as you don't want to spend any money since you won't have enough turns left to recoup it and you need it all to buy stock. In my opinion, the win option would have been better with a stock + something else to motivate people more. Maybe plus income?

Secret stock card kinda reminds me of just the straight up victory point cards in Catan.
