NEW PREMIUM SEATS! WestJet Boeing 737 MAX 8 Vancouver to Calgary

WestJet's Premium product has undergone some big changes in the past few years, most notably with the addition of proper 2x2 recliner style seats in place of the older "Euro-business" Economy ones with the middle seat blocker.

The 737 MAXs all have these new 2x2 seats, and after having flown the first commercial 737 MAX flight in Canada in 22 months, I tried out Premium on the very second flight, back to Calgary!

Nice that WJ is completing their seat reconfiguration and dumping the middle blockers. Bring back the big seats! We flew premium to BGI in 2019, we were however robbed of the MAX fat seats. WJ service was great though. Great coverage Alex, the Rocks look great out that wing. I prefer the A side to get a peek at Jumbo Mountain, Spray Lake and Engadine Lodge. Usual route from west is perfect.

Nice review Alex! Funny thing, in December 2020, I flew a WestJet 737-800 from Vancouver to Toronto and made a video about it. I recognized that first view of the terminal so much and funny enough, I also left from gate B16, the same one you boarded at! So also the jet bridge, gate area, and all of that looks so familiar! It’s kinda funny to think that a big YouTuber like you was standing where I was only like a month later. Anyway, nice video, hopefully I can fly on one soon enough. :)

No IFE means WJ will lose out to AC. Many pax in business class dont want to touch their phones on a flight - click on a screen instead.

Hmm I believe the premium seats would definitely be worth it for a longer flight like Edmonton to Toronto.
