NEW Astro Safari Keyfob Remote Programming

Here is how to program your new remote on certain years of Chevy Astro and GMC Safari vans. If you follow the directions and the locks don't cycle it isn't in programming mode.

Works with my 2001 Chevy Astro - Exactly as shown in this video, excellent Instruction. I purchased two Fobs to program, not sure why but the original (worn) fob would not program. Ultimately, I am very happy with the results.

Was told I had to go to the locksmith to program my 04 Astro. Decided to try your procedure and the doors locked and unlocked. So I bought 2 remotes on Amazon for $20 and took a chance that I could program them. At first I thought it wasn't going to work while I was holding the lock and unlock on the remote, but finally the doors locked and unlocked. So I programmed the second one. Just perfect! The new remote has more features than the dead factory unit and they all worked. Thanks for posting the video!

Bought two remotes from Amazon for 2002 Astrovan. For some reasons, I can only program one remote if I program another one it delete the first one. Any Idea? Thanks, good video👍🙂

I got new kay fob and I was able to add that key fob like you said everythin works fine except one when its arm and i open door it is not working . Can you help me with that?

First set of key fobs from eBay did not work they sent me the wrong ones, they were for a different GM vehicle. The second key fob I bought works the door locks and the panic horn but the alarm does not arm. Any answers why my alarm does not work? You push the lock button twice until you hear the horn toot. Then if opened like for instance you left the windows down then unlocked it and opened it, it should start honking.

Before even buying a remote I tried do put the van on programming mode but the lock does not give any sign of entering that mode. Does anyone know if a remote must be present for the van to give a hint the program mode is working?
