I was on the Depo Shot for 2 years. I got pregnant within 6 months of getting off of it.

I'm having a really bad experience with the depo shot. I'm so depressed it's so hard for me to function. I'm crying uncontrollably. Now I'm currently on depression medication and I don't feel it's working. Depo has its pros and I like no period or remembering to take a pill. But the emotional part is affecting my everyday life. I'm only on the first shot and considering not using anymore birth control at this point.

i got the shot the only side effect i got was mood change on the first day but after no side effects

The comment about putting your ovaries on a shelf until needed....lol I recently had the depo and its been nothing but a negative experience for me. Worst decision ever! Be thankful your period was light. I had heavy bleeding for over a month. It would not stop! Became very anemic. Got a UTI. So the doctor put me on another hormone to control the bleeding, which has helped but it still hasnt stopped completely...ugh. Im taking an antibiotic for the UTI. And I'm taking an iron pill twice a day. My doctor told me i might have light spotting but more than likely i would stop having a period. She said all those side effects shouldn't worry me because that wasnt the norm and only affected a small majority of people. Lies, all lies. I did research and those side effects are typical for the Majority of people. I wouldn't recommend the depo shot to anyone. What a nightmare :(

Lol, arms and limbs falling off! But, really this is exactly why I won't do any birth control. Too many foreign chemicals in my body for any extended time...I'll pass! Hope you have a positive experience despite to 2 wk flow.
