Let's Test!: NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

The most requested foundation for me to review at the moment is by far this new one from NARS; while the longwear part of the name had me excited, the radiant bit had me and my oily skin extremely nervous. How did the foundation end up doing on me? Let's find out (•̀o•́)ง

This is more of a first impressions. I would love to see what you think of this foundation after wearing it for a week!

back in the day fingers were all we had and that's how we applied our foundation. You could get wedge sponges which nobody used or cheap ass brushes that nobody used. I will blush came with a little brush that we used and we used the foam applicators for eyeshadow. No contouring no highlighting and we looked perfectly gorgeous!

Hey Cassie! Just a note- I’ve noticed this as well as other people- NARS foundations work best with NARS Primers. I’ve tried all of my NARS foundations with non- NARS primers and NARS primers and they do work a lot better because I think the formulas of the foundation and primer complement each other. 😊

Honestly, the shade range is really good, but online it looks so bad. In store it looks amazing.

Just a tip...not being rude. Try to go in store and swatch (if you can). Their shade range is good. Also, try bending more on the sides of your nose and towards your hairline and jaw. Blend down your neck so it all matches and is blended in. I blend right into my hairline, etc. Just a friendly tip. Anyway, great video!

just saying, you can’t always* judge a shade range from online alone. This shade range is quite good, and the idk if they made a new darkest shade with this range but before they expanded the shade range the darkest color worked for Nyma tang

The suggestion to use the fingertips is because François Nars always uses his fingers to apply makeup. I assume that is why. It's pretty common with Nars foundations I believe...

I think NARS has a great shade range. It was just released as well, compared to Tarte this is amazing for a new launch.

I have normal to dry skin and love this foundation. It's gorgeous!

Ack. Anyone else notice the cakeyness even in the beginning? Especially on the forehead and around the nose/mouth area. I'm oily skinned too and the fact that it comes off on your hands is something I used to hate about MUFE foundation before I found Estée Lauder. Never going back to that feeling.

I’ve just recently switched to the NARS Soft Matte from this, cos I hated the transfer and it would age on me kinda like it did on you. I end up looking oily and it separates. For me, I use it for photos or for short special events. The soft matte however, is perfection for my oily/dry skin

I agree with you on this one! I tried a sample. It looked beautiful and was a perfect match for me - Deauville. I used my Cover FX setting powder and UD All nighter setting spray. It held up ok for about 4 to 5 hours, but I noticed it had worn off my chin and nose area by the end of the day. It does have a beautiful, natural, skin like finish.

That foundation looks gorgeous on you! Except at the of the night. Cassie can you test that little machine that takes the peach fuss off of your face?? I'm interested if you think it makes a difference to make foundation look better. Thank you Cassie. I love all your reviews.

I spoke with the Nars rep. He showed me how important applying it on my nose first and spread with my fingers out. I didn't read the directions at first and applied with a brush. With the brush it broke down quickly. When he showed me with finger tips it lasted all day. I am slightly oily and he used the pore primer from the line and it was great! So I would say it's for normal / oily and then dry skin.

I think the color was good for on you. I also would like to see how would you like it in a 3-7 days wear. I didn't like how it seemed at the beginning but I repeat myslf... you need to moisturize your skin more. Go for 7 days sheet mask challenge or 7 skin method with you toner (not the one with acids tho!!)

Pretty much every youtuber who has oily skin who tried this foundation proves it is HORRIBLE with oily skin and doesn't meet ANY of the claims for being matte and controlling oil for 16 hr wear. I'm glad you posted it because it just confirms it's not for us oily folks!
