I ordered a 2022 TRD Off-Road 4x4 about 4 months ago. Got a call yesterday, they said it's on the barge (to Honolulu) and will arrive on Thursday and I can pick it up the week after. Total price is $39, 507.78 including tax, registration, etc.etc. It's in lunar rock, manual tranny with HID headlights and rear sonar to go along with the camera. Tried to get a TRD Pro but the dealership is only allotted 10 of those, and they were all reserved. Should be a great X-MAS. Good video by the way!

The Sof-Tex seats are easier to clean than cloth and actually make more sense on an off-road vehicle.

4runner has the old 4.0 V6
2nd gen Tacoma does have the same engine as the 4R but Toyota updated the engine with the redesign of the Tacoma in 2016(3rd gen) to a 3.5 V6.
Good video, great content 👌

Your comment about seating position is right on. I sat in these and neither me nor my wife who we were buying a midsize truck for could get comfortable. My head was touching the roof at almost six one and she was struggling with her legs extended at 5 4. We ended up with a higher trim Ridgeline with a so much more refined interior, better engine and six speed and ride. May be Tacos are more reliable and no doubt resale value is amazing. Still try one and live with seating position compromises which are done because of raised floor for off-roading. Off-road they destroy Ridgeline but on road Ridgeline ride is better.

Side note: I don’t think 4-runner and Tacoma share same V6 and transmissions are different too.

The title of the video says it's the TRD Off Road. FYI. Drive a Tacoma myself and love it. They hold their value in a way that doesn't even make sense. Right now used 2018 Off Roads with about 40, 000 miles go for about $35, 000. I paid $35, 500 for mine new in 2018. You'd like the cloths seats btw. They're very nice.

With a Tacoma you really can’t go wrong, they have such a great resale value. Dealers will try to make the TRD Pro seem rare but it’s still just another model. I’m not sure why the 4RUNNER doesn’t get the lane warning and signal mirrors of the Tacoma?

I actually like the seating position... Nice and low my legs stretched out.

Oh just an fyi the automatic is a 6 speed too.

I would see what you think about highway driving with the ECT Power button on. It allows the truck to go higher RPMs before shifting gears.

Did you actually say pulling back to shift down is the opposite of what it should be? 🤔

The auto is a 6 speed not a 5 as stated in the video.
