"After our last dachshund had to be put down at nearly 15 years old, we never thought we would get another dog. We found an older couple who breeds dachshunds every now and then and made the decision to get Pepper. I work from home so she spends most of her time with me. When she was a puppy, I don't think she slept anywhere else other than on top of me, so clearly, we are close. I had seen others try this challenge where they kiss or pet their dog and then stop to see how their dog would react. I wasn't sure what she would do, but after seeing her reaction it's just further proof of how spoiled rotten she is."

They are such expressive dogs, I love her taking time to process what just happened and calculate the best response. It always makes me happy to know dogs and humans get along so well. I wish we could be friends with all creatures, even the scary looking ones.

What a cute little dachshund. My dashound lived 21 years. He went blind at the age of three and we loved him even more. He got around the house so well. Sometimes you would forget that he was blind. Every night he would sleep with his head on my shoulder and my wife and I did everything we could to give him the best life he could have from the time he was a puppy to the day he died. I miss him a lot.
