I'm getting Fear Itself vibes. Lilith's possessed and enhanced minions are reminiscent of the Serpent's seven generals, the Worthy. To battle Lilith's forces the heroes are given new costumes and, probably, abilities just like how in Fear Itself, some heroes are given costumes/weapons forged from Asgardian uru.

During the trailer Lilith mentioned she’d remove venoms pain so my theory is she’s using all mind controlled characters past as way to make it easy to control them.
