The main difference is that Barry became the flash unintentionally through the accident (unless the flash going back in time and becoming the lightning that gave him his powers theory is true) while DeVoe did it all on purpose, and intentionally, going out in the rain at around exactly the location where the lightning did end up striking him

I loved season 4, we got Harry back, we had an amazing villain, they expertly teased Nora, we had the Earth X crossover, it was amazing!
(My only complaint is the random loss of Julian, he was slowly becoming a favourite and then they just made him disappear with a crappy explanation)

It literally makes zero sense that Devoe failed. Him and Savitar had thr perfect path to winning... but they didn't realise they had a bigger enemy: the writers.

Devoe (a super genius) getting outsmarted was such an ass-pull, especially after constantly reminding us just how intelligent he was.

Savitar was Barry, but better, and yet he fails because he decided to take too long stalling with his plan.
