Latest news on Mountain Fire roaring in California

The Mountain Fire has exploded in size and strong wind gusts in the area of California's Ventura County are helping it grow. CBS News Los Angeles breaks down the latest and CBS News Bay Area meteorologist Jessica Burch has an updated weather forecast for the West.

Portions of it look more like an urban firestorm more than a wildfire. Typical action of wind-driven embers entering vented wood truss roofs. Basically looks to have become elevated, exposed homes lighting other elevated, exposed houses on fire from the inside-out, a majority of vegetation immediately around the homes seems to be intact. Sad, but seems as much about the nature of nature, as it is about the nature of how we build.

We had cold in the 60 s with cloudy conditions then weather went back up to 79 to 80 then this happens with the wind gust. They always run out water in the fire hydrants this sounds like a repeat of Hawaii it’s so similar. I wonder if water hydrants pipes were maintained and why are they not being proactive ahead to stop fires ahead of time
