Lyrics:

Memories are all that's left behind
As I lay and wait to die
Little do they know
That I hear their choice of life

End it now, it is the only way
Too cruel, that is what they say
Release me from this lonely world
There is no hope - Why don't you

Pull the plug
Let me pass away
Pull the plug
Don't want to live this way

Once I had full control of my life
I now behold a machine decides my fate
End it now it's all too late

What has now been days, it seems like years
To stay like this is what I fear
Life ends so fast, so take your chance
And make it last

End it now, it is the only way
Too cruel, that is what they say
Release me from this lonely world
There is no hope - Why don't you

Pull the plug
Let me pass away
Pull the plug
Don't want to live this way

I remember walking in to the local indie record store back in '89 and finding a cassette in the $1 bin called Leprosy by some band called Death. Bought it based entirely on the cover art, hoping it'd be in the same vein as Reign in Blood. Got home, and popped it in to the walkman, and had my mind blown.

One of the few death metal albums I still enjoy listening to.

After all these years, it still sounds so fresh to me.

3:25 through 3:38 gave me chills

I knew Chuck personally. I got his home phone number, talked to him, and met in person in 1987 and met up with him again in 1989. I often think about the lyrics from this song and think to myself if he ever said any of these words as he was dying. What happened to him was one of the saddest things ever. I miss you, buddy. You were the best.

To my friend Mike Martin. He chose to give ALS the double bird and die on his own terms. Respect

Should be a part of any metalhead's daily diet

I love the remaster version, sounds fantastic. I can understand people not liking it because they prefer originals, but it's only some minor tweaks for quality purposes, not like they re-arranged songs or re-wrote some parts. I ordered the 2CD and a shirt, can't wait to go for a drive and crank it up.

One of the many things I like about metal is that you won't get such tough lyrics in other music genres
"Pull the plug, let me pass away"
Simply brutal

I totally forgot I wasn't hearing the full album. I was suddenly expecting 'Open Casket' to play next. LOL!

The opening riff of this song makes me think of a boss battle in a video game with the large heavy boss jumping in from of you from a high up place

The kind of song that makes you lift weights past your limits. To find strength beyond strength. We are all in a battle against time

For all those saying they can't ear a diference.
Its cleaner and more defined.
It doesn't sound so 80s Morrisound.
You decide if its good thing or not but i like it it does the music justice production wise.

one of the best break down riffs in metal history! that middle riffing blows my nads every time I hear it.

how could death not be the best metal band ever?

Musically they evolved so much, but lyrically Chuck was already ahead of the game.

That guitar solo still sounds good after all those years, love it.

It hurts that this song came true in a way. May a legend Rest In Peace.
