I did not know that something of that sort even existed. We have been making yogurt at home without it since ages. Well this can be good for cold countries or for new generation people who do not know traditional techniques. I now live in Canada which colder than my home country India but still I am able get make yogurt as much as I want. All i need to do know is regulate temperature smartly. And inside homes in Canada it is not cold at all.

I used to have this machine but now I make my yogurt in the Instant Pot using 2 tablespoon of store bought yogurt. My yogurt stays fresh for 1 month not 10 days.

I read comments here about why you need the machine? To make yogurt without the machine you have to cover the jars with blankets, if you dont, you just dont know nothing about yogurt, I am a 35 years artigiano Greek yogurt maker and all the secret is what starter you use, the times you leave the yogurt covered, what milk you use and the milk temperature before covering. 8 hours of covering will make the yogurt a little sour. The perfect time is 3.5 to 4 hours to make it sweeter.

The starter you use should have the word LIVE culture. Normally the plain Greek yoghurt is good. I have not tried the appliance but the most recent time when I made yoghurt you can plain the yoghurt in a bowl and place it in a Thermos casserole or you can place the yoghurt in a stainless container and place in a rice cooker which is closed like a one pot pressure cooker
