Something I always thought they did wrong was in the night investigation. I mean, if you are searching a big foot don't go at the forest with a big shining lantern!

I'm very much on the fence about whether or not Bigfoot exists. But I figured I'd drop a comment about a story told by my father's friend, who's a lifelong hunter. We (my father's friend, my father and myself) all live in the Lowcountry of South Carolina (though technically speaking, my Dad and I live just north of the Lowcountry if you go by a regional map). A number of years ago, probably twelve plus, my father's friend was in his pickup on some property used by a hunting club, near the Salkehatchie River. He was on a road (dirt road if I recall correctly), and it was near night, too dark to see anyway. There was a gate behind the truck. He said he heard a very low, very deep growl, unlike anything he'd heard before, and it made the hair on the back of his neck stand up. He said he heard it about 6 to 8 times, and it was steadily moving away from him, but judging by the initial sound, he surmised it had to have been near the gate behind the truck at first. He never saw the source of the sound, but said he got the impression that whatever it was, it was wanting him to know it was there and wanted him to know that he was in its territory. He informed the other hunting club members, and they asked if he was afraid, to which he replied that he wasn't, because all he had to do was crank up and drive off. Black bears are very rare down here, but we do have a few. He said he researched many different bear sounds, and it didn't match. He doesn't say it was a Bigfoot, but I think he might consider it in the realm of possibility. Thought I'd add that this is by no means an area where Bigfoot-related reports are in any way common.

I saw one blended into some trees once. Like it was cloaked. Prior to seeing it I felt a presence of something around me. And then I kept staring into the forest and saw two eyes blink within a tree about 10 yards in front of me. It freaked me out so much and I ran away. This was in Bellevue Washington.

I really felt in tune with the witness who was delivering newspapers. I had 3 (minor) encounters with - something - while doing my night paper route in western Washington state. I know the fear-and the intrigue-he describes!

When u see a whole room of people willing to stand up and talk about what they saw like this, it's hard to imagine that there is nothing to the legend. These are people that live around and in the woods, they know what the local wildlife looks like. It's just a matter of time until something shows up that the timber industry can't cover up.

I live in a small town in Wisconsin. Where my house stands is covered by woods on 3 sides along with a large field. When I was about 10, a friend and I were playing at the edge of the field near the wood line. Probably around 9pm, dark and the moon shining. All of a sudden we heard this incredibly loud gutteral growl coming just beyond the wood line. I swear I've never ran so fast into the safety of my home in my life. It wasn't a bear, nor wolf, coyote, or mountain lion. Been 14 years since that night. I've never heard a sound like it and I've walked those wood hundreds of times day and night. Seen a few coyotes, deer, woodchucks, and snakes but nothing that could have made that sound. I'll never forgot how much terror that growl gave us. I still get the hairs standing up on my body just thinking about it. Be careful in the woods. Keep bear mace or pack some heat if you know what I mean.

The fact that even Teddy Roosevelt wrote about these creatures based on a hunter's experience as a trapper makes it very hard to just brush off as some scary story for camp fires. In his book he said that the creature snapped the other hunter's neck, bit his throat, and then rolled on the guy, like maybe it understood how its weight would finish the guy off, or maybe to mark him with his I almost believe that it was getting revenge for the main hunter shooting at it the night

Well, according to me, its not just bigfoot that survived the prehistoric ages. I think maybe there's many more other animal species who survived those ages and still live among us in small populations around the world.

Saw something in July this year on Highway 5 near Blue Ridge at about 2:26 am while hauling. Was very spooky made my hair on the back of the neck stand up it was just walking on the shoulder in the middle of nowhere. Got me super spooked. Been down that road dozen of times this was the first time I ever seen anything like this. Very freaky definitely not a bear. To this day every time I drive there I look around.
