I have an orange swede saw or bow saw, bought it 25 years ago. Still works good as new. It's the only one ever use

Hi Dave. Great video. Enjoyed this one.
I used to own a 20 inch bow saw. I believe was made by Craftsman.
I kept in my truck behind my seat.
I must have loaned it out. It never found it's way back to me.
I now have a foldable Silky saw. Goin on two years now. Seems never needs sharpening.
Thanks for sharing and Stay safe in the woods.

I totally agree. I also like a 24" bow saw as my choice for anything outdoors.

We called it a bucksaw not a bow saw. When I was young in the early 1970's, back in Atlantic NL Canada, we always used a large bucksaw to cut firewood. Wood was our only form of heat at the time. In later years, to my delight, my dad bought a chainsaw. Love your videos Dave.

Thank you! It's my favorite saw too. My husband hates it. He keeps trying to throw it away. But I keep rescuing it out of the garage can. I found other one in a yard sale for $5.00 34" long he through it away. I saw so sad. I hid the 24" in my Greenhouse.

I like it Dave. So many times we reach and use something that isn’t flashy or expensive. We reach for tools we trust and that will get the job done. Another great video Dave. Thank you! -Stephen, Ohio

I bought a 36in Craftsman bowsaw with a swiss blade...never used from the local fleamarket for $5! Best saw ever!👍🏻

I have a couple of bow saws that I inherited from my dad they have have to be over 50 years old and still work great. I bought a box of hunting stuff at an auction and there was a fold down bow saw with two blades (meat and wood) that came in a great leather case. It has become my go to saw when I am beating the bush because of the pack down size and how well it works. I still have the original saws kicking around in my truck at all times and use them when I am close to the truck but I have to say this fold down saw has been a very pleasant surprise (and it was cheap). Thanks for sharing.

Good point about the folding saw, I hadn’t that about it that way.

I have the same saw. Made by Bacho, Sweden. It was hanging on the wall in the shed, when we moved in. Changed the blade - works. But I do have a really nice Felco folding saw. Very handy and for smaller stuff, it is great!

I picked up a Fiskars 24" at Wallyworld yesterday for $2.50. Quite a deal. Thanks for the info. Great video.

I have used the cardboard sheath method also. I’ve used cardboard to cover all sort of sharp tools. Especially when transporting said tools. It works and that’s what counts.
