Hover looting is essential for fast looting in Rust. But hover looting works with independent queues, meaning you can speed things up even more if you manage them properly.

when looting, if yo click alt+hoverloot you can equip automaticaly the clothes

I use this to put hoverloot on right mouse click. So I can click on individual items or use the same button to hover loot. took zero time to get used to.
bind mouse1 +attack2;+hoverloot
Everything works the same except right clicking and dragging one item off a stack will no longer work. I never do that so it didn't bother me.

my character keeps auto-equipping, leaving my gear behind. i also can't deposit, only withdraw items. idk what's wrong.

If I'm equipping the target's armor, I have a different route that gives me more security imo.
Hoverloot the row of armor instantly, when it's done, go for their gun and hover equip the armor from your own inventory. Then go back to the body and loot the rest if it's safe. It's also helpful because you won't run out of space as easily
