This series is for people who want to learn - or review - the economics of conservation. The Valuation series will look at the process of estimating the value of an ecosystem. This video takes a closer look at the method of valuing ecosystem services through surveying individuals about how much they value the service; asking what the most one would pay to ensure a service remains the same.

what an interesting survey. I wish they would do a similar one in my area.
also, did they mention, that the oak forest or the owls probably infect ground prices in the area? Wouldn't that be another way of determening the value of an area? (well, it only works if the area is damaged, like after builing a road or a fire that destroyed half the forest)

Interesting video but you talk way too fast and its hard to keep up. An extra minute or so onto the video isn't going to hurt
