Why Mutual Fund Fees of 1% Are Really 15%

Man have I uttered those words before..."Only 1%." Hearing the truth of what that 1% really is is shocking. I have to rethink how I'm investing.

Without using sweet words & pulling equations out of thin air. Explain to me like I'm a 5th grader how 1% turned into 15%. There are 12 months in a year and I can count from 1-100. Break it down in a very simple way so that I can understand it please.
